Pedestrian Struck On Hwy. 53

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon while walking on the west side of Ga. 53 near Dempsey Road.

The southbound lane was shut down for over an hour while Floyd County Police investigated and cleaned up the wreck. Initial reports stated that two people were walking down the side of the road, however only one was struck.
