It was a packed house at the Catoosa County Republican Party��ӽ紫ý precinct caucus on Tuesday, Feb. 18, with many criticizing the party��ӽ紫ý decision to stray from usual protocol and hold the caucus separate from its convention — all in an effort, they claimed, to limit participation.

They also criticized the Catoosa GOP for not announcing the event on its Facebook page or website and for scheduling the event on the same night as a county Board of Commissioners meeting.

Upcoming conventions

The Catoosa County Republican Party convention will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, at Ringgold Legacy Hall at 7683 Nashville Street to elect county party officers and delegates and alternates to the congressional district convention and state convention.

The 14th Congressional District convention will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, location to be determined. The district convention will elect district officers and state committee members for the next biennial.

The Georgia Republican Party state convention will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 6, in Dalton and will elect state party officers for the next biennial.
